Insulation and Plasterboard Delivered in Manchester, Liverpool and Across the North West

The North West has a bit of everything: red-brick terraces across Manchester, Salford and Liverpool, mill towns like Bolton and Wigan, 1930s semis around Stockport and the Wirral, and steady new-build growth around Warrington and Preston. We deliver insulation, plasterboard, drylining and suspended ceilings across Greater Manchester, Merseyside, Cheshire and Lancashire. This guide covers what North West customers most often order from us and how to plan delivery, whether you're on a tight terraced street or a new-build plot.

Common North West projects and what to order

Solid-wall terraces

Many older terraces in Manchester, Salford, Liverpool, Bolton and Wigan have solid brick walls, so insulation usually goes on the inside or the outside. Internally, insulated plasterboard such as Celotex PL4000 37.5mm (£40.21 a sheet) insulates and boards in one go; browse our full range of thermal insulated plasterboard. Sort out any damp first, and follow the board manufacturer's guidance on vapour control. Read how to fit insulated plasterboard to a solid wall.

External wall insulation

Where you'd rather not lose room space, insulating the outside of the wall is the alternative. Our external wall insulation collection brings together boards suited to render and cladding systems. Always follow the system holder's specification for fixings, render and detailing.

Cavity walls and new builds

For housebuilders around Warrington, Preston and Wigan, we stock full-fill mineral wool batts such as Knauf Insulation DriTherm 32 (£35.23 per pack of 6) and PIR partial-fill boards. See the full cavity wall insulation range and our cavity wall insulation guide.

Floors, roofs and lofts

PIR insulation boards are the go-to for floors, flat roofs and between rafters. For floors that need high compressive strength or sit near moisture, XPS insulation is a strong option. Where depth is tight, such as loft conversions, dormers and garden rooms, multifoil insulation is thin and quick to fit. For a straightforward loft top-up, loft insulation rolls laid to 270mm are hard to beat: see the 270mm rule.

Flats, offices and commercial fit-outs

Apartment and office projects in Manchester and Liverpool city centres usually mean new partitions, ceilings and acoustic work. We stock plasterboard, metal studs and track, acoustic insulation and suspended ceiling tiles and grid. Our drywall partition calculator and suspended ceiling calculator work out quantities.

Planning delivery in the North West

We deliver by lorry with a truck-mounted forklift (Moffett), which offloads at your site. We'll call you to arrange a delivery day.

• Terraced streets and back entries: many streets in Manchester, Salford and Liverpool are narrow with tight parking. Tell us about limited parking, weight limits or tight turns.
• City-centre sites: let us know about loading bays, permits or restricted delivery hours before we book a day.
• Storage: North West weather is no friend to plasterboard. Have somewhere flat, dry and covered ready. Our delivery and storage checklist has the details.
• Someone must be there to receive the delivery, and we need a phone number for the driver.
