Plasterboard Suppliers: British Gypsum, Siniat and Trade-Priced Boards
Insulation Warehouse Direct supplies plasterboard at trade prices to builders, drylining contractors and DIYers across England. We stock boards from British Gypsum (Gyproc) and Siniat, plus standard unbranded boards, so you can match the brand in your specification or choose a lower-cost board where the brand does not matter. Which type of plasterboard do you need?
- Standard board suits walls and ceilings in ordinary dry rooms.
- Moisture resistant board is used in kitchens, bathrooms and utility rooms. It is not a substitute for waterproofing or tanking in a shower. See moisture resistant vs vapour plasterboard.
- Fire boards are used where fire resistance is specified. The rating comes from the whole tested system, not the board alone, so follow the manufacturer's specification. See fire resistant drylining explained.
- Sound boards (SoundBloc, dB Board and sound plasterboard) have a denser core for walls and floors where noise matters. See how to soundproof a stud wall.
Square edge or tapered edge?
Tapered edge boards have a recess along the long edges so joints can be taped and filled for a flush finish, or skimmed. Square edge boards are normally fully skim plastered. If you are unsure, tapered edge is the more common choice for walls and ceilings.
Sizes and thicknesses
12.5mm is the usual thickness for walls and ceilings. 15mm is chosen where extra strength, fire or sound performance is specified. Our plasterboard sizes guide explains the options, and the plasterboard calculator works out how many sheets you need for a room.
Everything else for the job
As well as plasterboard we supply the rest of the drylining package: metal studs and track, drywall screws and fixings, beads, tapes and fillers, British Gypsum plaster, Knauf drywall accessories, access panels and inspection hatches and suspended ceiling tiles and grid.
